EKRE’s Martin Helme: Trump victory ‘white man’s revolt against globalist elite’ (6)
Chairman of EKRE’s parliamentary group, Martin Helme, called Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election on Wednesday “the white man’s revolt against corruption, immigration, gender-neutral toilets and schools, and against the globalist elite”.
Helme wrote on social media that the last time he had been so delighted he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry was when voters in the United Kingdom decided that the country should leave the European Union.
“Today America to rest of the world is the shining city upon a hill again, like Reagan loved to say in his days. To Estonia, Trump is a better ally in the White House than Kremlin-financed ‘Hill and Bill’ would have been,” Helme wrote.
He pointed out that in addition to the presidency, the Republicans had also won both houses of Congress, and two thirds of all governor seats. According to Helme, the U.S. election demonstrated how the political landscape was set up against “forces that challenge cartel powers”, but that it was still possible to win, as the people were sick of the latter.
“There’s no point ever believing any poll again,” Helme wrote. “Polls are part of propaganda, and people instinctively understand that. They don’t tell what their preference is anymore.”
The media were as corrupted as the Clintons and the whole Democratic Party, having done nothing but advertised their favorite candidate every day, Helme went on. “This applies to the U.S. as well as the Estonian mainstream media,” he wrote.
