In order to support the development of grade-school students’ digital competencies and allow for the better carrying out of electronic standard-determining tests for students, the state will support the discounted-rate purchase of digital devices for basic school teachers.

Local governments and private school owners are eligible to apply for the grants, with which the state will subsidize up to 85 percent of the purchase price of basic school teachers’ desktop, laptop or tablet computers.

A prerequisite for grant applications is an overview of digital plans wherein each school or school owner reviews their application to date of digital solutions in their educational activities and sets goals regarding future development.

The call for applications is being organized by the Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA), which will also be conducting in advance a joint procurement for the digital devices. Grant applications will be accepted through HITSA beginning in September.

HITSA will also be adding more exact information regarding application terms and conditions together with digital plan requirements to its homepage.
