EKRE restructures party accounting according to supervisory committee recommendations
The Estonian Supervisory Committee on Party Financing (ERJK) ended its supervision proceedings concerning the revenues and expenditures of the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) as the latter restructured its party accounting in accordance with the watchdog committee's recommendations.
EKRE announced that upon the committee's request, the party had redone the past three years' worth of its fiscal year reports as well as ordered an independent audit.
"The ERJK ended its party-related proceedings as the 2013 and 2014 reports on revenues and expenditures which had raised questions have been brought into compliance with the party's accounting records," said party vice-chairman Martin Helme.
"Our party's finances were essentially in good shape before as well, however revenues and expenditures had in some places been reported differently in the reports submitted to the committee and the party's fiscal year reports," Helme explained. "This discrepancy has now been eliminated."
