Rheumatologists, neurologists from Tallinn hospital to begin accepting patients in Kuressaare
Beginning on Thursday and July 25, respectively, residents of the island of Saaremaa will be given the opportunity to see rheumatologists and neurologists from East-Tallinn Central Hospital (ITK) at Kuressaare Hospital in the island's capital.
Rheumatologists will begin accepting patients at Kuressaare Hospital on July 14, neurologists on July 25, however patients will need a digital referral from their family doctor or a specialist in order to be seen.
"This is a valuable form of inter-hospital cooperation," said ITK's Director of Marketing Inge Suder. "We are very glad that ITK doctors will begin to accept patients in Kuressaare as well. For patients there, such an innovation means a good opportunity to be seen by recognized experts in a hospital close to home."
Suder noted that ITK had previous experience with offering specialist care in Kuressaare, based upon which the hospital hoped for a smooth and successful experience this time around as well.
