Savisaar: Maybe we should give my opponents a chance
According to longtime party chairman Edgar Savisaar, it was the support of his party mates which motivated him to run to defend his position as chairman. "People everywhere encouraged me to run and talked about how they support me," he said.
At the same time, however, he expressed encouragement for his opponents for the position. "Eventually they will want to win and we have to understand this and maybe even give them opportunities [to do so]," said Savisaar.
The Center Party's extraordinary congress is scheduled to take place on Nov. 5 in the Central Estonian town of Paide.
