Estonia establishes diplomatic relations with Papua New Guinea
The Papua New Guinean and Estonian ambassadors to Australia, Charles W. Lepani and Andres Unga, signed an agreement on Tuesday to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries. Unga also met with Papua New Guinea’s foreign minister, Rimbink Pato.
During the meeting, the representatives discussed the future possibilities of improving relations between the two countries, among other areas in IT and e-government solutions, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a press release on Tuesday.
“We are pleased that Papua New Guinea is interested in Estonia’s e-solutions. We see several possibilities to develop our cooperation,” Unga said, adding that trade delegation visits would help establish business connections.
Other topics discussed at the meeting was the role of small states in international politics, and supporting each other’s candidacies in international organizations.
