The police closed Gonsiori street early on Tuesday morning because of a bomb threat. The immediate surroundings of ERR’s new radio building as well as its TV building were checked. The police decided no threat was imminent, and the street was opened again for traffic at 7:20 a.m.

Access to ERR’s new radio building was limited by the police at 6 a.m., both police and rescue vehicles were on the scene. After 7 a.m. the teams moved on to the TV building across Kreutzwaldi street.

The police told ERR at 7:21 a.m. that the items suspected to contain explosives had found to be harmless, and that Gonsiori street would be opened for traffic again.

According to a witness, eight white packages the size of wrapped books were found right outside the entrance of the new radio building. The message scribbled on them caused the finder to call the police.

Surveillance footage showed a man depositing the packages at the entrance to ERR’s TV building at around half past one in the morning. The packages found outside the radio building were the same.

ERR was able to continue to broadcast without interruption.
