Meeting with Oleksandr Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukrainecil in Kiev, Estonian Defense Minister Hannes Hanso said that Ukraine oould count on the support of Estonia.

During the meeting, Hanso was offered an overview of the security situation in Ukraine and the security reforms in that country, spokespeople for the Estonian Defense Ministry told BNS.

Hanso said Europe must maintain a consensus on the policy of sanctions until the territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored and that the non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea is a subject that must not be forgotten in the light of the other crises battering Europe.

"The people of Ukraine can always count on the support of Estonia," Hanso said. "Estonia will in principle never accept the annexation of Crimea and the Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine, since this is not just an isolated case but an aggressive policy of the Kremlin that the democratic world cannot accept."

Hanso said that it's extremely important that Ukraine would continue its integration with the Western world, because reforms are necessary not for officials in Brussels, but for the state of Ukraine.

"Our 100 percent support goes to the democratic aspirations of the Ukrainian people when it comes to integration with NATO and we encourage them to go on with reforms,"said. the minister.

The Security Council of Ukraine is chaired by President Petro Poroshenko.

Hanso is in Kiev to attend the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the rotation of Ukraine on Wednesday.
