Head of Russian army west accuses NATO of hybrid war preparations
General Anatoly Sidorov, head of Russian Western Military District, said the latest NATO movements point to the first phase of a hybrid war.
He said the first stage is the destabilization of Russian internal politics with political and economic methods, Interfax reported.
“The anti-Russian bearing by Baltic states' military-political leadership has allowed the deployment of the US third mechanized division' elite units totaling up to 1,000 people on the territory of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania,” he said at a military history conference.
He said that an information campaign is taking place in the region, aiming to strengthen anti-Russian sentiment.
