Bomb threat letter found on Tallinn-Istanbul flight, Estonian teenager arrested (1)
The cleaning crew at the Ataturk Airport found a bomb threat letter on a Turkish Airlines flight which had just arrived from Tallinn on Wednesday evening.
No bomb was found on the aircraft, Turkish Weekly reported. Postimees reported that an Estonian, aged 17, has been apprehended. Andres Kahar, of the Estonian Internal Security Service, said it was probably a stupid joke as the person has no previous police record.
The airline has received a number of threats in the past months, including a similar letter just three days prior to the Tallinn flight. Four Turkish Airlines flights have had to make emergency landings due to bomb threats since March.
The previous version of the story said the arrested man is 18, not 17, and that the citizenship was unknown.
