Justice Ministry Declares Public Copyright Consultation Open
The Justice Ministry has declared a period for public comment open on copyright protection in EU member states.
It followed the lead of the European Commission, which earlier this month initiated the public consultation for better regulation of the area.
The floor is open to all stakeholders - anyone who has an interest in copyright issues, from consumers to companies and organizations.
The aim is to allow the commission to update regulation of the digital internal market and ensure better access to online copyrighted content.
"Copyright protection has taken on a broader meaning as use of digital equipment increases. We thus want to learn more about what interest groups expect on this issue and what the boundaries of copyright regulations should lie in the digital age," said Justice MInister Hanno Pevkur.
The period will run until February 5, 2014. For more information on how to comment, see here.
