Rõivas greets NATO decision to set up international staffs in Baltics
Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas has welcomed the decision by the alliance to set up staff elements in the Baltics.
"I welcome NATO CHOD's decision to establish NATO C2 element, incl to Estonia. Wales decisions are implemented, glad to host NATO in Estonia," he said in a tweet last night.
The international staff elements were approved on Thursday and will be established in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Baltics. The proposal now goes before the NATO members' defense mninisters.
Lithuanian Chief of Defense Jonas Vytautas Žukas confirmed to BNS that the decision had been reached; the news was also reported by the Lithuanian Delfi site.
