Quota refugees submit 2 applications for family reunification (1)

Of the refugees relocated to Estonia under the EU's migrant relocation plan, two have submitted applications for reuniting with their families.

The Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) has received a total of 11 family reunification applications this year, a spokesperson for the agency that also deals with migration and citizenship told BNS. This means that a person granted international protection in Estonia wishes to bring members of his or her family to the country as well.

The applications filed this year involve a total of 36 peple. The PPA spokesperson noted that two reunification applications have been turned down and one is currently being processed.

This means that a person granted international protection in Estonia wishes to bring members of his or her family here as well.

The applications filed this year involve a total of 36 people. The spokesperson said two reunification applications have been turned down and one is being processed. Two of the applications were submitted by persons relocated to Estonia under the EU migrant program.

The law treats spouses, unmarried and underage children, unmarried and underage children in guardianship as well as parents and grandparents dependent on persons granted protection or their spouses as family members of a person granted international protection.

International protection has been granted to a total of 144 individuals in Estonia this year. To date, Estonia has accepted a total of 68 war refugees under the EU migrant relocation program, four of whom are unmarried men.
