EKRE extended board reelects chairman for second term
Paul Puustusmaa was reelected chairman of the opposition Conservative People's Party of Estonia's (EKRE) Extended Board on Saturday.
Puustusmaa, a lawyer, was elected for another term as chairman of the party's extended board at its Saturday meeting.
The head of the Räpina Municipality Council, Tiit Kala, was elected deputy chairman.
The EKRE Extended Board consists of the party's honorary chairman, chairman and deputy chairs, MPs and members of the government if the party is part of the government, members of the extended board elected at the party congress as well as chapter and regional organization chairs
In accordance with EKRE statutes, the powers of the chairman of the extended board expire at the party congress where new members of the extended board are elected.
EKRE's current extended board was elected at the party's congress on June 12 this year.
Martin Helme, chairman of the EKRE Parliamentary Group, had previously told BNS that the Extended Board was expected to elect the incumbent Puustusmaa to another term as chairman.
