Flights between Tallinn and Istanbul delayed due to terrorist attack
As a result of Tuesday's terrorist attack at Istanbul's Atatürk airport, Wednesday's Turkish Airlines flights between Tallinn and Istanbul will be delayed. At present, no flights have been cancelled. Flight TK1423 is expected to land in Tallinn at 2:10 p.m., and flight TK1424 to Istanbul to depart at 2:55 p.m., according to latest updates.
“The flight arriving from Istanbul scheduled to land at 11:15 a.m. has been postponed, but there is no official information about a cancellation at the moment,” spokesman for Tallinn Airport Priit Koff told BNS.
Koff added that since the Istanbul-Tallinn flight would arrive late, the flight scheduled to depart at 12:10 p.m. from Tallinn to Istanbul would also be delayed. At present there was no more information.
Update: According to the latest available information, flight TK1423 from Istanbul to Tallinn is expected at 2:10 p.m., and flight TK1424 to depart to Istanbul at 2:55 p.m. today.
A terrorist attack was carried out at Istanbul’s Atatürk airport on Tuesday evening by three terrorists. At least 36 people were killed, 147 injured. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that evidence suggested that the terrorist group Islamic State was behind the attack.
According to officials, the airport was reopened on Wednesday morning.
