Intelligence official's Russian lawyer hints at possibility of prisoner swap
The lawyer for the Estonian Internal Security Service official Imprisoned in Moscow's Lefertovo prison said he doubts Eston Kohver will be in jail for many more weeks.
Yevgeni Akyonov told Postimees in an interview that Kohver would likely be released after a trial and that this may already have been decided.
"I don't think he will sit in jail for long," said Aksyonov, who was appointed as Kohver's attorney by the same agency that detained Kohver in September, allegedly on the Estonian side of the border.
"I predict that after the trial someone will fly to Moscow and someone will fly to Tallinn. There are no cases where the intelligence officers of a foreign country sit for long in prison in another country," he said.
