Another disappointing day for Estonian athletes in Sochi, but good news from Nordic combined competitor Kristjan Ilves, who had good results in a training session.

Cross-country, women's sprint free, qualification

1. Maiken Caspersen Falla, NOR, 2:32
48. Triin Ojaste, EST, + 0:15

Top 30 qualified, Ojaste missed out by 6.9 seconds. Total of 67 participants.

Cross-country, men's sprint free, qualification

1. Ola Vigen Hattestad, NOR, 3:28
51. Raido Ränkel, EST, + 0:15
52. Peeter Kümmel, EST, + 0:16
59. Siim Sellis, EST, + 0:20

Top 30 qualified. Ränkel missed out by 6 seconds. A total of 85 athletes took part.

“I feared the track and began too slowly, I could have started faster,” Ränkel told ETV on Tuesday, adding that the Estonians prefer a harder track to the one in Sochi.

Biathlon, women's 10 km pursuit

1. Daria Domratševa, BLR, 29:30,7, one miss
55. Johanna Talihärm, EST, + 8:21,8, five missed

The day's best result came from a training session where Ilves jumped 98 meters on the normal hill, which was in one of the top-20 best results in that session. Ilves will take part in the Nordic combined event today.

Estonians competing today, February 12:

11:30 Nordic Combined: Normal hill, jumping (Ilves, Piho, Tiirmaa)
14:30 Nordic Combined: Normal hill, cross-country skiing (Ilves, Piho, Tiirmaa)
