Around 30 international election monitors are currently registered to observe Estonia's October 20 municipal elections.

The monitors registered so far represent five different countries - 10 are from Latvia, six from Lithuania, six from Russia, four from Finland and two from the UK. Among them will be the chairman of Lithuania's electoral committee and a Latvian MP.

A day before Election Day, observers will attend a seminar and inspect polling stations, the media adviser of the National Electoral Committee, Karina Loi, told uudised.err.ee.

Advance and e-voting began on October 10. As of Monday evening, 121,443 voters, constituting 11.2 percent of those eligible to participate, had cast their ballots. Of those, 72,986 had done so online.
