Foreign Affairs Committee Heads to China
The Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee will travel to China today as part of an official visit.
“The role of China in the world is ever increasing, which means closer ties with Beijing is very important to Estonia, especially in the current security situation in Europe,” Marko Mihkelson, the chairman of the committee, said in a press release on Sunday.
He said Estonian-Chinese relations have been very successful in a number of fields in the past two decades.
The Estonian delegation will meet the head of the Chinese foreign committee, deputy foreign minister and deputy head of foreign communication of the Chinese Communist Party. The group will also stop at the Estonian embassy.
