Russia Extends Detention of Captured Estonian Official (1)
According to ERR correspondent in Moscow, Neeme Raud, captured Estonian secret service official Eston Kohver will remain under arrest until at least January 5.
Raud said he spoke to Kohver's lawyer, Yevgeni Aksyonov, said Kohver was in court today, along with a state-appointed translator.
The lawyer said Kohver will go through psychological tests and then the investigation will move on to Kohver's weapon.
Aksyonov said this week the Estonian state could provide an apartment, with his help, for Kohver and there was a slight chance he would have been given house arrest, instead of spending the next two months in jail.
Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas urged caution Thursday regarding the signals sent by the Russian state-appointed lawyer.
