Former Deputy Mayor Convicted of Document Falsification
Anders Tsahkna, a former deputy mayor of Tallinn and former adviser to the minister of social affairs, was today found guilty of document falsification, receiving a four-month suspended prison sentence.
Harju County Court also issued a 5,000 euro fine to his company, Balti Radiodiagnostik OÜ, court spokeswoman Kristiina Ots told ERR radio.
Tsahkna was cleared of other charges, including demanding and taking bribes, and influence peddling.
Tsahkna has previously been tied up in several other influence peddling charges. He is a member of the Reform Party and half-brother of IRL politician Margus Tsahkna.
His lawyer said Monday's ruling would be appealed.
