Cabinet Gives the Go-Ahead for Russian-Language TV Channel (8)
The government decided on Thursday to create a new Russian-language television channel under ERR.
The aim is to begin broadcasting in September 2015.
The government said 390,000 euros will be available for that project and smaller steps such as expanding the format daily news in Russian to include weekly summaries and improving the programing of Raadio 4, the Russian-language ERR radio station.
Culture Minister Urve Tiidus said ERR, Estonian Public Broadcasting, umbrella organization also to ERR News, should present the government with a in-depth analysis of costs and already available resources in a few months time.
