Pevkur: Good cooperation with Russian Border Service ceased (2)
Estonian Interior Minister Hanno Pevkur conceded today that the constructive cooperation between Estonian and Russian border guards has stopped.
"It is true that after the Ukraine crisis, good cooperation has ceased,” Pevkur said to Postimees.
He added that relations became sour after Russian Federation's annexation of Crimea, when the information flow between the two border services dried up.
After the abduction of Estonia’s Internal Security Service official Eston Kohver, the interaction became even more scarce.
After the so-called "Kohver incident" and Ukraine crisis, Estonia's public attention has increasingly been directed at the country's eastern border with Russia.
