Government Parties Receive Advance From Voters, IRL Says
The Pro Patria and Res Publica Union (IRL) dropped four percentage points in the most recent poll, the lowest rating among parliamentary parties. According to the party, the ruling Reform Party, which topped the poll, has received advance credit from voters for the future performance of its new coalition with Social Democrats.
IRL’s secretary general Tiit Riisalo told uudised.err.ee on Thursday that the party is not working for the sake of ratings, and instead tries to achieve real results.
“The ruling parties have certainly received an advance from voters in the form of a higher rating. IRL plans to continue being a constructive but piercing force in the opposition,” he said.
According to the monthly popularity poll conducted for ERR by TNS Emor, the Reform Party rose to the top position with 29 percent, followed by its fresh coalition partner Social Democrats with 27 percent. The Center Party was third with 24 percent and IRL lost 4 percentage points, falling to fourth place with 15 percent.
