Estonian Air Gives Talents a Discount
Last week Estonian Air agreed to cut a real deal for expatriated "talents" who may return to live in Estonia through the Bring Talent Home project, which aims to bring back at least 25 Estonians from abroad.
An eye-opening discount knocks off 50 percent from one-way trip and 25 percent from roundtrip tickets once. Apparently, there are no strings attached, and no obligations to remain in Estonia, but to qualify, one must be an expatriate Estonian with potential aspirations to return to the motherland.
Bring Talent Home, an EU-funded, Estonian-language website, was launched with flying colors and considerable media attention last October. The Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry program hooks local employers with expats.
The website has so far attracted 453 users and 94 employers. But with 20,000 visits from 92 countries (beside Estonia, mostly the UK, Germany and the US) to the website, just 152 people have actually applied for a job.
