The head of the Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee has asked parliamentary factions to convene on Wednesday to discuss the situation in Ukraine with the aim of publishing a statement.

The committee's chairman, Marko Mihkelson, told ETV on Monday that Parliament has a session-free week this week, but the weekend's events in Ukraine merit a parliamentary debate.

The Committee will submit a motion to support Ukrainian independence and territorial integrity, which is expected to be voted on later on Wednesday.
