New PM Meets Narva Citizens in Tour of Northeast Estonia
Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas visited northeast Estonia Tuesday, holding a question and answer session in Narva.
Asked if the anti-Russian hysteria will end, Rõivas said he sees no hysteria, “I think we have a very friendly and united meeting here. I believe your opinion is greatly exaggerated.
“Secondly, I do not believe anyone will attack Estonia. Even in theory this is not possible as Estonia is part of the world's most powerful military-political alliance (NATO) and why would anyone be so stupid as to even contemplate attacking Estonia?” he said.
Narva is Estonia's third largest city, and has a near-90 percent Russian-speaking population.
Rõivas also visited a primary school and a technology park in the region.
