Savisaar at Book Release: Others Should Write More
At the release of his latest book, "The Truth About Estonia," Center Party leader and Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar said other Estonian politicians should also write more on current events and recent history topics.
When asked for names by ETV at the Monday event, Savisaar said specifically that Vaino Väljas, the last general secretary of the Estonian Communist Party who played a role in the transition to re-independence, could potentially pen one of the most interesting books.
"I think he'd had a lot to offer," he said, "and I'm sorry he hasn't done it to this point."
Savisaar said he did not doubt there would be lack of interest on political topics.
Regarding other politicians, he said: "Maybe they think too highly of the web and think there won't be readers for books." But he noted the print run of his own previous work, "Prime Minister," was 13,000 - a high number for Estonia.
He told ERR that he hoped to complete the third volume in his part-memoir trilogy in 2015.
