Social Democrats campaigning in Helsinki
The Social Democrats are running a outdoor ad campaign in Helsinki, with the aim of attracting Estonians in Finland to return to work in their home country.
“There are 67,000 Estonians living and working in Finland, of whom many would be willing to return to their homeland if the salary, life environment and social guarantees offered a livable life in Estonia,” Urve Palo, the economy minister, said.
She said the state should make an effort to give reason for expatriate Estonians to return.
The Conservative People's Party opened a branch in Finland at the end of October. The party said it aims to give a political platform to the 50,000 Estonians permanently residing in Finland.
