Decision Reached: EU IT Agency to Be Led from Tallinn
Estonia and France have agreed that the headquarters of the European Union's IT agency will be established in Tallinn, while the servers will stay in Strasbourg.
Minister of the Interior Marko Pomerants told the ETV news program Aktuaalne Kaamera, that only a few weeks of legal nuts and bolts stand in the way of a written agreement - and that it will have the support of European Parliament.
Pomerants said the agency could start in 2012. About 100 people would work in the headquarters, including the director general who will probably be neither Estonian nor French, said Pomerants.
