The newly created position of the health and labor minister in the new government could be taken up by Urmas Kruuse from the Reform Party, currently the mayor of Tartu.

The Reform Party has not confirmed speculation that Kruuse will be offered a seat in the government, Postimees reported today.

The party board will discuss the ministerial candidates at their meeting on Monday, but most of the current cabinet is expected to continue, with only Hanno Pevkur moving to the ministry of the interior from the justice ministry. Two newly created ministerial posts, the health and labor minister and the minister for foreign trade and entrepreneurship, are still apparently undecided.

Ten years ago, Andrus Ansip also left his job as the mayor of Tartu and became the minister for economic affairs in the government of Juhan Parts.
