Center Party's Chairman Edgar Savisaar said Siim Kallas worked in a state with a progressive tax system, and his political views could have shifted left.

The party's spokesman, Taavi Pukk, said on Wednesday evening that Kallas, who recently said he will run for Prime Minister at next year's elections, has a softer tone than the current PM, less prone to conflict, and more neutral on the Russian topic.

Speaking on the Andrus Ansip and Kallas switch, Savisaar said Kallas made a deal with Res Publica, one half of IRL, for the post, but failed to fill his part of the bargain, and IRL in turn could block Ansip's move to the EU Commissioner spot.
