Ojuland Makes U-Turn in Possible Legal Action Against Reform Party
MEP Kristiina Ojuland has decided not to sue her former party after being ejected over rigging allegations in an internal election in May.
“I would like to move on with my life in peace and not engage myself with negative things,” Ojuland told Delfi on Sunday.
She said she had been preparing a court case for months, but arrived at a conclusion that restoring her membership would be pointless, adding that a Andrus Ansip-led party is not one she would like to be a part of.
Ojuland was thrown out of the ruling Reform Party in the beginning of June for allegedly casting 40 e-votes on behalf of elderly party members in a party leadership contest.
Ojuland has denied any part in vote rigging, claiming that the party has tried to frame her.
Currently a member of the European Parliament, Ojuland served as the minister of foreign affairs between 2002 and 2005.
