President Ilves tasks Rõivas with forming government (1)
President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has asked current PM and Reform Party Chairman Taavi Rõivas to form the new Cabinet.
The three parties locked in coalition talks have already agreed on the principles of the new coalition, but will need to sign the actual coalition agreement between them before heading for a vote in the Parliament.
Rõivas has said he hopes the agreement will be finalized this week, one month after the national election.
Rõivas's current government with the Social Democrats will stay in office until the new coalition has received Parliament's approval.
According to Eesti Päevaleht, both IRL and the Social Democrats will receive four ministries and the Reform Party will receive five, plus the PM seat and a new ministry, which will be set up to deal with EU affairs.
