Current Minister of Justice Hanno Pevkur is being seen as a possible prime ministerial candidate, at least within the Reform Party.

Pevkur, who turns 37 next month, was social affairs minister and then took over for Kristen Michal during the Reform Party's campaign financing scandal.

He is seen as bringing less proverbial baggage than other candidates. The fact that he is an Estonian from Ida-Viru County could also make him a consensus builder, observers say.

Pevkur's name was mentioned today by Reform Party board member Jaanus Tamkivi, who told uudised.err.ee that he had a "definite" shot at PM.

"He is definitely. He was in the running back when Siim Kallas was not yet discussed," Tamkivi said.

Tamkivi also said Paet, 39, and Social Affairs Minister Taavi Rõivas, 34, were candidates.

The new candidate will likely be announced this afternoon.
