The events in the eastern part of Ukraine have also influenced the capital, with people in the dark about Russia's plans for the country, ERR's correspondent in Kyiv reported.

ETV reported on Monday that the Maidan square - where the events that led to the crises began - remains littered with barricades, and photos of those who fell in February.

Asked by ERR's Astrid Kannel if the deaths on Maidan were worth it, considering what has happened in the east, one self-defense soldier said yes, adding that uncertainty is in the air.

Another local said there are no bloodless revolutions, while a third said that despite the uncertainty, she expects positive progress in Ukraine after the crises have ended.
