Chief of the Defense Staff of the British Armed Forces Gen. Nicholas Houghton is visiting Estonia today and tomorrow.

Estonian Commander in Chief Maj. Gen. Riho Terras and Houghton are scheduled to give a joint address and overview of plans for cooperation after NATO's forces pull out of Afghanistan next year, reported ETV.

Estonian troops have been serving in the Afghanistan mission alongside British armed forces since 2006.

In other instances of cooperation, the Estonian navy has acquired a minehunter from the UK. There are also joint air force and medical projects, and last year British forces took part in the Estonian military exercise Kevadtorm.

Houghton took over the reins of the British forces this summer. He formerly led the British missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
