A remote-controlled drone carrying an IRL election campaign poster hovered in front of cameras during a live TV appearance by Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar yesterday, further escalating the pre-election feud between Savisaar and IRL.

Mainstream media is reporting the drone was a project by IRL's mayoral candidate Eerik-Niiles Kross, who has posted the video on his Facebook page, while the video originally appeared on IRL's YouTube account.

Savisaar was talking about Kross on municipally-funded Tallinn TV's program “The Mayor's Hour” when the remote controlled helicopter flew behind the glass walls of the studio, located on the 4th floor of the Solaris Center in Tallinn.

Not an isolated attack

On Monday morning, city authorities removed IRL-funded, anti-Savisaar political ads that had appeared in front of the Tallinn City Government building hours earlier.

Eerik-Niiles Kross himself was at the location at the time.

In another episode on Wednesday, IRL youth members cycled passed the mayor displaying political posters while he was giving a TV interview at the opening of a renovated road.

The posters all read: “Savisaar's corruption takes 1,000 euros from your family each year. Let's bring that to an end.”

Kross said on his Facebook page that a website, www.edgarsavisaar.ee, was shut down on the orders of the Harju County Court on Thursday after Savisaar issued a complaint. The court said that the address was registered to IRL.

A new website, www.edgarsavisaar.co, is operational, and displays the same message, Kross said.
