Mikser: No Center Party voter left behind (3)
Sven Mikser, the chairman of the Social Democrats, has vowed to do everything in his power to form the next government and keep the Center Party and Reform from doing so. He said he senses a special responsibility for another left of center party's base.
"Edgar Savisaar [chairman of Center] will not become prime minister. I will do all I can to become prime minister and form a social democratic government. Parts and Rõivas would not do that," he told Eesti Päevaleht daily.
Mikser said the problem was that under Savisaar, Center was not suitable to govern. "If a democratic, non-corrupt and European-minded party called the Center Party should appear in Estonia, why couldn't they be fit to govern, but I don't see it right now."
"But what distinguishes the Social Democrats from the Reform and IRL is that we don't want to leave Center Party voters out. They undoubtedly have their legitimate expectations and desires and they have to be considered," said Mikser.
