Tallinn district offices to be searched on embezzlement accusations
The Central Criminal Police will search the offices of the Põhja-Tallinn district government today, after a green light by Harju County Court.
The Prosecutor's Office said officials are accused of paying out taxpayer money for forged invoices. Authorities are also looking at a company, which allegedly produced the fake invoices.
One city official, a specialist at the district office, and a businessman are under suspicion, but have not been arrested. District elder Karin Tammemägi is not believed to be involved.
