Annual Friends of Estonia international meeting will take place in Tallinn from July 9-11 to celebrate the help of those who given a helping hand to the country.

Among the guests this year are the US Department of State Coordinator for Cyber Issues Christopher M. Painter, MP Gordon Marsden from the United Kingdom, Mayor of Milan Letizia Moratti and the board of the Mitsubishi corporation.

The Estonia's Friends International Meeting is a joint initiative launched by President of Estonia President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Enterprise Estonia and entrepreneur Margus Reinsalu to thank and recognize business, political and cultural figures whose actions and advice have helped Estonia to become a truly European country with a dynamic economy and thriving culture. Every year about 100 Friends of Estonia attend the meeting, established in 2010.

This year the three-day event will be attended by over 150 people from 20 countries worldwide, who will be able to contribute to discussions, look around in Tallinn and in the Lahemaa National Park, and participate in a varied cultural program highlighted by the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Neeme Järvi performing the music of Arvo Pärt in honour of his 80th birthday.

The traditional symposium "Quo vadis Estonia?", this time on the topic of "Identity: Online and Offline," will feature talks from President Ilves and Balaji Srinivasan, a board partner at Andreessen Horowitz and a start-up entrepreneur. The event will be moderated by Sten Tamkivi.
