Postimees Poll Squares With ERR's

The results of the other major pre-election poll were released Wednesday, with the results also indicating a Center Party lead over Reform and the Social Dems.

The poll conducted for Postimees by Turu-uuringute AS showed the Center Party at 17 percent, the two coalition parties (Reform and the Social Democrats) at 15 percent, and IRL at only 10 percent.

Independent candidate Indrek Tarand had 9 percent on his own in the poll, comparing favorably with entire parties. He would be projected to win re-election as an MEP. All other individual candidates combined managed to net only 5 percent of nationwide voters. 

WIth regard to people's preference by candidate, Tarand led, also with 9 percent, followed by Marju Lauristin (8 percent), Andrus Ansip (7 percent), Edgar Savisaar (6 percent), and Tunne Kelam (5 percent).

Jüri Ratas, Yana Toom, Kaja Kallas, Urmas Paet and Ivari Padar all polled at four percent or lower, with 27 percent of those intending to vote still undecided. The poll had 849 participants.

Voting in the election ends on Sunday.
