EU Study Shows Estonia Lagging in Tackling Road Transport Emissions
A new EU study on transport shows the average carbon dioxide emissions from cars in Estonia are well above the community's average, while the nation leads in the way in increasing rail passenger numbers.
The study evaluated each member state in 15 categories, with either side of the spectrum named as low or high performers in each category respectively.
The Netherlands and Germany topped the high performers list with eleven out of 15 categories. Estonia was above the dividing line in four and below the line in five categories, which meant a final place of 15th out of 28 member states.
Lithuania was 17th, Latvia 25th and Poland in last place.
