A new environmental education center was opened in Pärnu on Thursday, at the site of an old nature museum.

The eco-friendly building will be used for exhibitions, but also features a planetarium, an observatory and workshops, Postimees reported yesterday.

The cost of the project came to 4.1 million euros, of which EU funds covered 3.6 million euros and Pärnu municipalities the rest.
