This Week's Weather: Hot Flashes
Tuesday's heat and thunder showers should set the stage for the coming few days, which are shaping up to be both sweaty and soggy.
Wednesday is likely to be the hottest day of the abbreviated work week, according to the Meteorology and Hydrology Institute, with temperatures ranging from 24 to 30 C. A weather system moving from Poland towards Sweden will bring in warm air as it sweeps past, increasing the chances of thunder storms and rain after midday. Overnight, the air should cool off to a mere 15 to 20 C.
Temperatures on Thursday should be more moderate, hitting the 19 to 25 C zone during the day. The thunder and rain is expected to return with a vengeance in the afternoon, however.
Higher pressure and far cooler temperature readings - in the 12 to 17 C range - are in the cards for the earliest hours of Friday, while temperature during the day should be 18 to 23 C. The relatively colder air should also spell a brief respite from the precipitation before the warm, rainy conditions return for the weekend.
