Kohver faces two new charges, says lawyer
Yevgeni Akyonov, the state-appointed lawyer for captured Estonian security service official Eston Kohver, told the Estonian Foreign Ministry that two new charges have been brought against Kohver.
According to Akyonov, the charges were made at a interrogation session on Friday and include illegal transportation of weapons and illegal crossing of the Russian border. The early charge of espionage still stands.
Mari-Liis Valter, a spokesman for the ministry, said they currently only have information from Akyonov and there is no official confirmation.
Akyonov said the next interrogation will take place on Wednesday. The lawyer has previously said the process could begin in May and last three weeks.
Kohver was kidnapped from the Estonian border on September 5 and has been held in a prison in Moscow ever since.
