Health Insurance Fund to Grow 8.6 Percent
The board of the Health Insurance Fund is expected to approve this year's budget, which has grown by 8.6 percent to 903 million euros.
The rehabilitation program is set to be the biggest winner in the new budget, increasing 12.5 percent to 24 million euros, ETV reported today.
GPs and specialist doctors will also see their medical budgets increase, while health care workers will see their salaries grow as the result of a previously signed collective agreement.
The fund is financed 99 percent by social tax. In the 2013 budget, over half (57 percent) was earmarked for specialist services, medicine subsidies received 13 percent, GP services 9 percent and compensation for temporary incapacity to work 11 percent.
