Twenty Estonian cities and towns held charity relay races on Thursday to raise awareness of disabled children and to encourage people to make donations for their treatment.

More than 10,000 participants took part. The donations made are going towards the treatment of 7-year-old Astrid, 14-year-old Gerry, and other children at the Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Center, ETV reported.

According to the organizer of the relay race Erik Pallas, there was great interest in the event and roughly 9,500 children were involved.

Donations can be made around the clock by phoning + 372 900 7777.
