Women's Salary Expectations 30% Below Men's
Statistics published by the job mobility website CV-Online show that on the average, women's salary expectations in Estonia are 30 percent lower than men's.
As of April, CV-Online's job mobility database contained 146,048 CVs of women and 109,783 CVs of men that included salary requests, Postimees wrote.
Women's average salary request was 557 euros per month after taxes, while the men's corresponding average was 795 euros.
In age cohorts, the 36 to 44-year-olds have the highest salary expectations, both for men and women, with the 45 to 53-year-olds closely behind. Experience does not seem to hold much value in the applicants' eyes, as in older age groups the expectations become, on the average, notably humbler.
