Estonia 36th in World in Prosperity (1)
Estonia is 36th of 142 countries in well-being in this year's Legatum Prosperity Index, compiled by an independent UK organization, down only one spot from last year.
The country has been bobbing between 31st and the mid-30s since 2009, when it was 31st. One reason for the drop was that two of the 32 new countries included in the index this year placed higher than Estonia.
The study results are based on 90 indicators. More than 1,500 people are interviewed in each country.
Estonia's best score in the eight categories came in governance, 25th. The interview subjects' perception of individual liberties resulted in the lowest score - 71st.
